Cannon has been in operation since 1954.
Founded by Ernie Cannon.
Cannon began operations primarily as a chainsaw bar repair firm.
A year later,the company developed their own chainsaw bar, and at about the same time started manufacturing bars for McCullough chainsaw Company in Arizona.
By the late 1950's Cannon was among the leading chainsaw bar manufacturers, and repair shops, in North America.

Over the next several decades, the company continued to grow and diversify.
